Picks of the Week:
There’s a lot going on this week. Some of the jazz highlights include Trio Sueno’s elegant flamenco jazz, and a free Saturday afternoon show featuring a whole bunch of local heavy hitters. On the folk side you’ve got McKain Lakey on Thursday and the return of the Coty Hogue trio on Sunday. If you want to get noisy, there’s Thunderpussy on Thursday and Tacos! on Saturday. Then there are the two big multi-genre memorials on Saturday. At Boundary on Saturday they will be celebrating Ray Downey’s life by raising money for music education with a stacked bill including The Atlantics, Pacific Twang and Bilongo. Then at Maritime Heritage Park there’s a memorial for Jonathan Sherman featuring Mount Saturn, Devin Champlin, Ship to Ship, and a bunch of other great local folks. What are you looking forward to this week? Let us know in the comments.
