The big event this week is the Bellingham Folk Festival. All the events marked with ** below are part of that. There are also a whole bunch of jams and workshops which aren’t listed, check those out on their website. Tickets for each event are separate, you don’t have to buy an event pass or anything like that.

Picks of the Week:
The non-Folk Festival highlights include two big shows at the MBT, Pink Martini and International Guitar Night, and two touring acts at the Buffalo, Big Head Todd and Metalachi. There’s also a neat jazz show at the Firehouse on Saturday night.
The Folk Festival has such a wide range of events, it really depends what you want to see. All the shows at the Sylvia Center will be very high quality, but they’re a little more expensive. If you’re into folk/ electronic fusion you will want to check out Elias Alexander’s new project Ramblxr at the Shakedown. For sheer instrumental wizardry there’s Sean Hall or Rushad Eggleston. For something quieter but emotionally intense you could try West of Roan. Or keep it simple and just hang out at the Honey Moon all weekend. Be sure to check the whole schedule, there’s a lot!
Whatever you end up doing this weekend, be safe and tip well!
