Picks of the Week:
Jazz fans have some great options this week and should definitely plan to be at the Sylvia Center tonight for D’vonne Lewis. Dovetails’ beautiful country/ folk sound should be a treat on Thursday. Funk and groove lovers won’t want to miss Monophonics on Friday night. This tango party on Saturday sounds neat, with live music followed by a DJ for dancing. Even if you don’t tango it would probably be a lot of fun to watch. Boundary is putting on a pretty epic end of summer bash on Saturday with great music all day capped off by The Dusty 45s at the end of the evening. What are you looking forward to?
New artist of the week: Jubal Jake is the solo project of Jeremy Swayne, a recent California transplant, also a member of the band Sunfellow. His solo work has a haunting and beautiful sound influenced by Leadbelly, John Prine, and Roy Orbison. You can check him out on bandcamp, or head down to the Honeymoon on Thursday to see him in action!
