Picks of the Week:
It’s great to see AS Productions bringing live local music back to campus in a big way. Both nights of their big festival have a great variety of local acts. The Wild Buffalo has a big weekend and it appears that there may even still be some tickets left for Sir Mix-A-Lot, which is surprising. Cat Valley just released their new EP and it seems to be getting a lot of buzz, not just locally. You can celebrate with them on Thursday at the Shakedown. You may have seen Gunhild Carling on this quasi-viral video, somehow playing swing on the bagpipes. No word on if she’s bringing the bagpipes to the Hotel Leo this week or just sticking to trombone and trumpet but either way it should be a highlight for swing fans.

News and Upcoming Events:
Miles Harris has a new gig. He’ll be playing solo every Monday out on the deck at Boundary for your listening and dining pleasure. If you know your Bellingham music history you know that Mondays at Boundary have a tradition of incubating some cool musical communities.
Culture Cafe has a new open mic night starting up on Sundays.
Not strictly local but I’m digging this EP by a couple of ex-locals. If you remember Racetrack or Lands Farther East (or just enjoy high energy guitar pop), check out Pacey.
Still looking for any new artists who want to be profiled here. If you’ve started a new musical project in the last few years, let’s tell people about it! Also I’m still planning to do another Bandcamp roundup in time for the next Bandcamp Friday, so if you’ve released any music in the last year let me know.
Thanks to everyone who has subscribed so far. Please share this newsletter with anyone you think might enjoy it so we can continue to grow.
